Official Horror movie fan here- you can check out my other post for the 61 Days of Halloween Horror Movies to see the complete list of what we watched for the past 2 months! From that list of 61, I am pairing it down to 2 definitive lists- the 10 New Horror Movies to check out, and 10 Classics that should be on your watch list- so what should you dig around for from the past?
As Above, So Below
I surprised myself and had never seen this! Found footage horror movies can be really hit or miss- this has an interesting concept and some really freaky scenes- hope you don’t mind the dark!

Halloween (2018)
I watched a TikTok about how you could split the Halloween universe into 5 different categories- this one might be my favorite one then. Family team up against Michael! Yes, you should watch all 3 from this one.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula
This movie has EVERYTHING- a campy Gary Oldman, a really really REALLY bad british accent from Keanue Reeves and every vampire trope you could ask for- ITS PERFECT!

Insidious
I call this my comfort horror movie- I love you James Wan! The jump scares in this get me every time.

The Descent
When a found footage movie is done right- its great- this was one of the first found footage movies I saw in theaters and I kept my feet up in my seat the whole movie. Couldn’t pay me to get down into that cave though.

Speak No Evil (2022)
I only watched the new one with James Macavoy because I will watch anything with him it it- but gotta hand it to The Danish- they know how to make a truly horrible movie. The ending stuck with me for weeks and I don’t think I could ever re watch this.

Invisible Man
Another one I knew nothing going in- so frustrating, so scary, and Elizabeth Moss just crushes this role.

It (2017)
I think since this came out I’ve watched it almost every year now- finally, a really good adaptation from Stephen King’s books!

Talk To Me
The idea is such a great take on modern society and social media, the body gore really sticks with you and overall one of my favorite horror movies of the last 10 years probably.

It Follows
Horrifying concept and a really intense start scene for this one- the thought of the slow chase will always scare me.
